Ed & Nadine Carson Student-Athlete Center

Home Away From Home

The ASU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is housed in the Ed and Nadine Carson Student-Athlete Center. It is considered to be one of the finest student-athlete centers in the country. A Sun Devil student-athlete can meet with an academic advisor, receive treatment, or get ready for practice, all without leaving the center.

This comprehensive facility has several state-of-the-art features. The Lawrence Strength Center is a practically unrivaled weight room in the world of college athletics. It contains Powerlift and Hammer Strength equipment, 12 resistance machines, 100 pairs of dumbbells, a nutrition area, and a warm-up track. The training room uses advanced innovations such as the SwimEx sports and conditioning pool to promote aquatic therapy.

The Tom and Gloria Dutson Theater on the third floor can accommodate the entire football team and hosts many departmental meetings. The Wally Kelly Student-Athlete lounge, where all Sun Devil student-athletes can go to relax or study while waiting for practice, class, or tutorial sessions, is also on the third floor.

The fifth floor accommodates both the Sun Angel Foundation and the Hobbs Family Stadium Club, where football, as well as men's and women's basketball hold training table.

The building was named for Ed and Nadine Carson, the 2002 National Association of Athletic Development Directors Donors of the Year

Joseph Anders

Assoc Head Women's Basketball Coach

For Joseph Anders, very little has ever come to him without hard work. Anders acquired that mentality early on, starting with sage wisdom from his grandfather who said that his father did Anders a great service by teaching him to work. It is that approach that has enabled Anders to encounter success at every stop he has made throughout his coaching career which has spanned more than 20 years.
